Apollo Tyres Ltd has achieved a 5-star rating in the British Safety Council Occupational Health and Safety Audit, demonstrating its commitment to continually improving health and safety management systems. This audit was conducted at the company’s Andhra Pradesh plant, which underwent a thorough evaluation of its occupational health and safety policies, processes, and practices.
Apollo Tyres’ Andhra Pradesh plant was awarded a 5-star grading for its compliance with best practice standards. K Prabhakar, Chief Manufacturing Officer at Apollo Tyres Ltd, expressed his satisfaction, stating, “My compliments to each and every member of AP Plant Team on this remarkable achievement. This is true demonstration of your unwavering commitment to excellence and dedication to upholding the highest standards of health and safety at the workplace. Earning this prestigious recognition is a reflection of your collective efforts to create a safe and secure environment.”
Procedure for the audit
The audit included reviewing documentation, interviewing senior management, employees, and other key stakeholders, and sampling operational activities. The audit measured performance against key health and safety management best practice indicators and reviewed nearly 60 component elements.
