Kia India launched the Syros at INR 8.99 lakh. The Syros incorporates design elements from the EV9 and Carnival, focusing on technology, comfort, and design for the Indian market. The launch includes several innovative ownership programs and highlights Kia’s commitment to a greener future through the use of sustainable interior materials.
Bookings are open with a INR 25,000 deposit at dealerships or online. ADAS features are an additional INR 80,000 on the top trim.
Features
The Syros offers a segment-first Over-the-Air (OTA) software update system for 16 controllers, eliminating the need for dealership visits. This feature is typically found in luxury vehicles.
The Kia Connect 2.0 system provides over 80 features, enhancing connectivity and vehicle management. Kia also introduced Kia Connect Diagnosis (KCD) for remote vehicle assessment and Kia Advanced Total Care (KATC) for proactive service alerts.
The Kia Syros boasts a 2,550mm wheelbase, emphasizing passenger comfort. The 76.2cm (30”) Trinity Panoramic Display panel acts as the Connected Car Navigation Cockpit.
A dedicated 5-inch Climate Control Display provides easy access to climate settings. Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are included, along with a Harman Kardon Premium 8-speaker sound system. The Syros features Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) with 16 autonomous safety features and a 20-feature safety package.
These features include Smart cruise control with Stop & Go, Front Collision Warning with Avoidance Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Follow Assist, a 360-degree camera with blind view monitor, Electronic Stability Control, Hill Start Assist Control, six airbags, and ABS.
Design
The exterior design, inspired by Kia’s “Opposites United” philosophy, includes Starmap LED lighting, Digital Tiger Face, R17 (43.66 cm) crystal-cut alloy wheels, and a muscular stance.
Two engine options are available: a Smartstream 1.0-liter turbo petrol engine (88.3 kW/120PS, 172Nm) and a 1.5-liter CRDi diesel engine (85 kW/116PS, 250Nm). Rear Seat Ventilation enhances passenger comfort. Sliding and Reclining 60:40 Split Rear Seats provide flexible boot space. A Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof adds an open-air feel.
Both engines offer manual and automatic transmission choices, including Kia’s first Smartstream G1.0 turbo GDI with a 6MT configuration.
The Syros comes in four trims – HTK, HTK+, HTX, and HTX+, with eight color options: Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Pewter Olive, Intense Red, Frost Blue, Aurora Black Pearl, Imperial Blue, and Gravity Gray.
Ownership programs
Kia introduced several ownership programs. The My Convenience Secure add-on covers selected wear & tear parts. The My Convenience program tailors maintenance packages to individual usage. My Convenience Plus combines maintenance, extended warranty, and roadside assistance.
An Extended Warranty covers mechanical and electrical failures. The Scratch Care Program offers free repair for one scratch within the first year. Roadside Assistance is standard for three years, extendable up to six.
