Maruti Suzuki India reported a 10% year-on-year increase in total sales for November 2024, reaching 181,531 units compared to 164,439 units in November 2023. This growth was driven by increased domestic sales and a significant rise in exports. Domestic passenger vehicle sales also saw a 5% increase, reaching 141,312 units compared to 134,158 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales figures show a mixed performance across different segments. While utility vehicle sales saw substantial growth, sales of mini and compact cars experienced a decline. Exports played a significant role in the overall sales increase, jumping to 28,633 units in November 2024 from 22,950 units in November 2023.
Passenger vehicle wholesales
Maruti Suzuki India’s total domestic passenger vehicle wholesales reached 141,312 units, up from 134,158 units in November 2023. Mini segment car sales, including the Alto and S-Presso, slightly decreased to 9,750 units compared to 9,959 units in the same period last year.
Compact car sales
Compact car sales, which include models like the Baleno, Celerio, Dzire, Ignis, Swift, Tour S, and WagonR, also saw a decline, dropping to 61,373 units from 64,679 units in November 2023. However, utility vehicle sales, including the Brezza, Ertiga, Grand Vitara, and XL6, experienced substantial growth, reaching 59,003 units compared to 49,016 units in the previous year.
Exports
Maruti Suzuki’s export figures contributed significantly to the overall sales growth. The company exported 28,633 units in November 2024, a notable increase from 22,950 units exported in November 2023.
Sales of the Eeco van saw a modest increase, reaching 10,589 units compared to 10,226 units in November 2023. Sales of the Super Carry light commercial vehicle also rose to 2,926 units, up from 2,509 units in the same month the previous year.
